Dating

Based recent research of BKKBN (Badan Koordinasi Keluarga Berencana Nasional), Indonesia becomes the fastest country which spread AIDS in South-East Asia. Additionally, one of province in Indonesia, Papua becomes an endemic area of HIV. Most causes of AIDS are free-sex. Commonly, there is a tight relationship between free-sex and dating. Free-sex is one of the bad effect results from dating. It is not wise if we judge dating just bring bad effect because most of people also say that dating gives advantages for them.

Dating gives advantages for couples. Most couples think that dating make them know each other. By learning each other characteristics, we know how should treat him/her. They also argue that there is somebody who takes care of us. Remembering us to pray, eat, and study. Furthermore, there will be someone we can share for. In particular, when we have some problems, we can tell them to our boyfriend/girlfriend. In common, they will give us advice to overcome our problems. So, it will really help us.

On the other hand dating also gives disadvantages for us. The opponents of dating hold that dating is wasting our time because we just want to stay beside our “close friend”, every time we just think of her/him. It may disturb our concentration in study or work. It also can distract our way to achieve our dream because we just imagine of our boyfriend/girlfriend. Moreover, dating is also wasting money. For instance, if we go somewhere we should pay a lot of things we want to buy. We don’t just pay for ourselves but also to our girlfriends such as pay for the meal. Although a lot of people say that dating is the way to express our love, it can influence people to do free sex. We all know that free sex is the most causes of AIDS. Free sex give bad effects, especially for girl because it causing pregnancy. The most common phenomenon around us is parting. Parting will make someone down, particularly if he still loves his ex-girlfriend.  

I think to be balance, we should concern what the advantages and disadvantages before we date with someone. For us who have had a relationship with someone we should aware and restrict ourselves not to do something bad with our boyfriend/girlfriend. Always remember our God, our family, and also our future. Don’t make our future dark just because of dating.
